Popular Kiss FM Abuja DJ Daniel Jibrin, popularly known as Danosaur, died on Tuesday night in hospital
A statement released by Kiss FM Abuja confirmed the news: "We
received with shock the news of the passing away of our drive time
presenter, Mr Daniel Jibrin AKA Danosaur from his family last night with
the utmost shock and disbelief.
“We
all at 99.9 Kiss FM will surely miss Daniel in so many ways, but will
most especially remember him for his disarming smile, cordiality with
all staff and his very valuable and professional contribution to the
station during a very critical phase of its restructuring.
Daniel
had been working in radio for many years and was a presenter at Ray
Power Abuja before joining Kiss FM, where he was a producer and
presenter of the‘321’ evening show until his death.
He was
also a music artist and had signed a management contract with Iroko
Records. The label also released a statement which said: “The news of
his death is still a shocker to everyone who knew the lyrically-sound
Hip-pop figure with a northern swag.
“Danosaur
went the extra mile in promoting all the songs of the other artistes on
the label since he was a radio personality. He was truly more of a
friend/brother than an artiste and the entire Iroko Records team will
definitely miss him dearly.”
There were unconfirmed reports that he died following complications from a fire accident.
